2. How long do your hair systems last?

The lifespan of our hair systems is determined by how well they are taken care of. Usually, lifespan is from 6 months to several years depending on how often they are worn and how well they are taken care of and what chemical treatment it had to undergo when being made.

As a rule of thumb hair in virgin color (which is „natural black“) will hold much better than in light or highlighted color. Also, straight hair is always more moisturized than wavy hair or curly. So if you order light color or highlighted hair in a curly texture, only very highest grade pure hair has to be used; however, such chemical process would definitely have a negative impact on quality of hair and so shortens its lifespan.

3. How should I measure the head?

1.Use a cloth measuring tape.
2. Measure holding the tape snug, but not tight against the head.
3. Keep tape flat against your head and do not allow kinks or twists to develop in the tape.
4. Braid, Wrap, or lay your hair how you plan to wear it under the wig before measuring your head for your wig.

5. Measure your head circumference with a tape measure around your hairline
Circumference defines the distance around your head. Starting at the center of the front hairline, place the tape flat against your head, going just above the ear towards the back of the head, keeping the tape at the nape of your neck and go around to the opposite side of your head, just above the opposite ear and returning to the center of the front hairline.

6. Measure Front to Nape
This measures the length of your head from the front to the nape of your neck. To determine where the nape of your neck is, tilt your head back and look up. Where your neck bends and may even develop a skin fold, is where your nape is. You want the bottom of the wig to sit right above this area so that when you do tilt your head back that far, your wig will not shift on your head. This area is often right at the occipital bone, but be sure to take the measurement with your neck bent down so that you are looking at your shoes. Starting at the front hairline, measure directly across the middle top of your head to the area that you have determined is your

4. Will it look natural when worn?

After You Purchase

1. How should your hair system be washed?

Keep your wig clean to prevent tangling caused by dirt and sweat.

  • Before washing, fully comb the wig while it’s dry to remove tangles.
  • Wash under running cold water (colder water better preserves rich color—never use hot water).
  • Use only sulfate-free shampoo; sulfates are harsh and can dry out hair fibers.
  • Lather a small amount of shampoo in your palms, then gently stroke along the hair length (avoid rubbing or scrubbing). Rinse gently using the same motion.
  • Follow with conditioner: apply only from mid-length to ends (avoid the wig base). Finger-comb to distribute evenly, then let sit for 2–3 minutes.

After rinsing, gently squeeze excess water with a towel (do NOT rub, twist, or wring the hair). Place on a wig stand to air-dry completely.

2. What are styling tips and restrictions?

  1. Gentle Brushing: Start by using a wide-toothed comb to detangle your wig, beginning at the ends and working your way up. This technique helps prevent breakage and minimizes tangling.
  2. Styling Freedom: You can cut, style, dye, and perm your wig just like your natural hair. Keep in mind, however, that excessive chemical treatments can damage the hair and reduce its lifespan.
  3. Product Selection: Feel free to use hair products such as hairspray, mousse, and gel, as wigs are washable and reusable. However, it's best to avoid products containing alcohol, as they can dry out the hair.
  4. Moisture Maintenance: Since the hair in your wig has been cut, it no longer receives moisture from the scalp. Apply a leave-in conditioner to the ends of the hair to combat dryness, but avoid applying it to the wig base, especially on silk tops.
  5. Moderation is Key: Avoid overusing leave-in products, as too much can lead to buildup, making the hair tangle more quickly. Keep your wig clean by washing it regularly. If it feels heavy or dry from product buildup, it's time for a wash.
  6. Drying Techniques: Air drying is the best method, but if you prefer to blow dry, use low to medium heat. Always apply heat protection before using styling tools like curling irons or flat irons, as excessive heat can damage the hair.
  7. Creating Waves: For a no-damage wavy look, style damp hair into two French twists and let it sit overnight. When you unravel it in the morning, you'll have soft, beautiful waves.
  8. Root Care: When brushing near the roots, avoid fine-toothed combs without rounded tips. Jagged comb teeth can snag on the wig's knots, leading to shedding.

By following these tips, you can keep your wig looking beautiful and prolong its life!

3. Do our hair systems shed?

  • Normal Shedding: All lace wigs experience some shedding, which is normal. However, if you notice specific patterns, like bald patches, it may indicate that the hair wasn't thoroughly rinsed during washing.
  • Silk Top Care: To prevent shedding in the silk top area, it's essential to rinse it thoroughly when washing the wig. Ensure that no product residue remains between the layers. Insufficient rinsing can lead to product buildup, which may loosen hair knots and cause shedding.
  • Gentle Detangling: Avoid brushing your wig while it's completely wet, as this can lead to breakage. Instead, use a wide-tooth comb to gently remove tangles, starting from the ends and working your way up.
  • Scalp Care: Refrain from scratching your scalp through the wig, as this can lead to shedding. If your scalp feels itchy, remove the wig and treat it with an anti-itch shampoo and conditioner, followed by a moisturizing oil to alleviate discomfort.
  • Adhesive Awareness: Be cautious with adhesives (glue or tape) and solvent removers that contain alcohol, as these can significantly shorten the lifespan of your wig, particularly if it’s blonde or has bleached knots.

By following these guidelines, you can maintain the quality and longevity of your lace wig!
